Westpark School was created from an amalgamation of Westerton School and Byron Park School in 2008. Westpark School is situated on the site of the former Westerton School, which was built in 1953. Extensive renovation was undertaken prior to the amalgamation and the school is well provided with accommodation to meet modern educational needs including a new nursery built within the existing building. Eight classrooms were renovated; a GP room, SFL room, and a new ICT suite were created, new storage cupboards were put in and the main office underwent renovation.
Westpark School has excellent facilities including a nursery and activity room, a well equipped kitchen, a large assembly/dining hall with stage, a gym hall, a staff room and administrative offices. The assembly and gym halls were redecorated and upgraded in March/April 2013.
There are 10 classrooms, a general-purpose room, a support for learning room and an ICT suite of modern computers and ipads for individual learning. There are well equipped junior and senior libraries and we have ample accommodation for resources to support the curriculum. Resources include at least 2 computers per class and every class has the use of an interactive white board.
The room are light, having large windows overlooking the school playing fields and playground. The school role this session is currently 225 children in P1 to P7 and 80 children in the nursery.
