Return to School Planning

Following the First Minister’s announcement on Tuesday we have started planning for a possible return to school on the 22nd of February, for all nursery children and children from Primary 1 to Primary 3. Children currently attending the hub from Primary 4 to Primary 7 should be able to continue to do so after the 22nd of February. The hubs will continue to run as they are now, until then. We are unable to accept any new children into the hubs at the moment.

To ensure a safe return for children, their families and staff, the school risk assessment will be revisited to update any changes to access doors and additional safety measures required. We are also currently planning for the delivery of asymptomatic testing kits for staff, for twice weekly testing, to reduce the risk of transmission for everyone.

Please note, the return to school will not be confirmed before the first minister’s announcement on the 16th of February but we will continue to share information with you as it is developed over the next 2 weeks.

Below is a letter from the Director of Education.
