An author comes to Westpark.

On Wednesday we unveiled our revamped school library. We celebrated by hosting a mini book festival, headlined by acclaimed children’s author, Pamela Butchart with the help of the ScottishPower Foundation.

Westpark School was chosen as one of two winners of Library Energiser, an initiative set up by the ScottishPower Foundation, in its role as sponsor of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, offering primary schools across Scotland the chance to win a £2,000 library makeover.

As part of the prize, the pupils also received a visit from one of their favourite authors, Pamela Butchart. Pamela was invited along to open the library and entertain the children with her tales including Never Tickle a Tiger and My Head Teacher is Vampire Rat.
